  • whether the Government proposes to take steps to cut down on the administrative cost incurred in implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA); .
  • if so, the details thereof; . whether the NREGA has been implemented with IT support; and .

Food Security Programmes

Will the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution be pleased to state: .

  • the detail of all the food security programmes run by the Government, state-wise; and .
  • the reaction of the Government over providing additional nutritional support to the beneficiaries of the food security programmes, especially children, women and old aged?
 
Vocational Training

  • whether the Government proposes to introduce vocational training in government run or government aided schools to particularly benefit the students from the less privileged background; .

  • whether the Government proposes to take steps to optimise irrigation support to the crops out of existing facilities; .

  • the steps proposed/taken by the Government in adopting quick maturing irrigation schemes and ensuring water flow in the medium-term?
 
Rain Water Conservation

  • whether the Government has been taking steps for rain water conservation; .
  • if so, the details thereof; . whether the Government proposes afforestation of exposed hill-slopes as per ‘Ridge to Valley’ Watershed Development approach and increasing forest canopy cover in order to ensure conservation of rain water; .

  • the steps taken by the Government to promote modern farm practices amongst the farmers; .
  • whether the Government proposes to conduct regular seminars in Gram Panchayats on modern farm practices (crop-specific approach) and provide free agricultural assistance to the farmers; .
  • if so, the details thereof; and . if not, the reasons thereto?
 
Productivity of Rain Fed Crops

  • the district-wise productivity of rice, pulses and coarse grains in the past three year; .
  • whether the Government has taken steps/proposes to develop drought resistant varieties of rain fed crops and propagate their spread; and .
  • if so, the details thereof?
 
Indian Seed Programme

  • the detail of the breeder, foundation and certified seeds production in the last three years; .
  • the detail of seed banks in India, state-wise; .
  • whether the Government proposes to avail seeds to the farmers at reasonable price and check the supply of spurious seeds in the market through the creation of seed banks; and .
