Blaming nepotism and casteism, BJP MP from Pilibhit Varun Gandhi said youngsters have lost their way and were not getting a chance in politics.

"Only those (youngsters), who either belong to influential families or are affiliated with a big lea
der, get a chance to progress in politics. This trend is spreading like a disease," Gandhi said, while addressing a rally in Sultanpur.

He said that unless the
common youth gets a chance, the country's progress was not possible, adding, "There is a need
of casteless politics in the country."

Varun said that politics had lost its path in the present scenario. "People elect their representatives, but do not take into account what they have done in five years. They should seek an account from their representatives," he said.

Varun demanded the government to provide an interest-free loan of Rs5 lakh to youngsters, so that they can start their own business or work.

Questioning the re
servation policy of the Centre, the young BJP MP alleged that the Women's Reservation Bill passed recently was merely a farce.

Varun alleged that there was rampant corruption in welfare schemes of the government, and poor people were not getting benefits of Below Poverty Line (BPL) and mid-day meal schemes.

He said that as his father and grandmother had dreams for Sultanpur, he considered this place as his home. "I will devote more time here," he said.

He also told the people to keep a close watch on their elected representatives, so that they become more accountable. The BJP leader also announced to organise weddings of girls who belonged to economically backward backgrounds.
